Access rules and limitations
- Items must be presented outside at an agreed collection point no later than 7.30am
- Clear access to the collection point is required
- Items must be liftable by two people
- Fridges and freezers must be completely emptied of food before collection
- Domestic properties only, not business premises
- Changes or cancellations need at least 2 working days' notice
If you cannot move the items yourself: A separate assisted bin collection scheme exists for residents with disabilities, poor mobility, or who are elderly or infirm and have no one else in the household able to put bins out. It was not confirmed whether this extends to large item collections.
Kerbside-only rules are the norm across the UK; crews are not insured to enter your home. If nobody can get your items outside, see your options when you can't lift it.
