Charities such as Renewal North West and the Stockport Homes Furniture Recycling Service will collect reusable furniture and electricals for free, and items can also be listed free on Freecycle, Stockport Freegle, or taken to a household waste recycling centre at no charge

Dishwashers, DVD, video and stereo players, Electric fires, Electric recliners and electric beds, Electric tools, Fridges, freezers and fridge freezers (contents must be emptied first), Non-petrol lawnmowers, Microwaves, Ovens and cookers (excluding range cookers), Small electricals such as lamps, irons, kettles and hair stylers, Slow cookers, deep fryers and air fryers, Televisions and computer equipment, Vacuum cleaners and steam mops, Washing machines and dryers, Bed frames, headboards, bookcases, cupboards, chairs, drawer units and tables, Floor coverings up to 2 metres (carpet, rug, laminate, underlay), Gas barbecues (with the gas bottle removed), Ladders up to 2 metres, Mattresses and mirrors, Unmotorised bicycles, Wardrobes, Armchairs, sofas and other upholstered seating.

Petrol-powered lawnmowers, Range cookers, Gas bottles (must be removed from barbecues before collection), Fridge, freezer and fridge freezer contents (must be emptied first).
